From the Publisher
A complete course in learning to paint with minimal materials
If you’ve always wanted to have a go at painting but never had the confidence, these are the books for you, you’ll be amazed what you can achieve in just a few simple steps, even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before.
All you need are three tubes of paint, three brushes and a pad of watercolor paper, and you’re ready to go! Build up your skills as you work through the nine easy projects, and produce beautiful watercolor paintings.
Learn how to:
Use brushes
You will need only three round brushes to do all the paintings in these books: a no. 10 (large), a no. 4 (medium) and a no. 2 (small). You will learn that you can make a whole variety of marks by the way you hold the brush and the amount of pressure you apply. A little time spent practising and exploring the different marks you can make will always pay dividends.
Mix Colors
If you use the three colors just as they are, they are referred to as ‘pure’ colors. However, by combining them together in your palette or on your paper, you can create lots of extra colors.
Trace and transfer pictures
The paintings in the books are shown at full size so that you can trace the drawings from them. This will allow you to transfer them to your watercolor paper, making it even easier!
And in no time at all
You’ll have nine beautiful paintings you’ll be proud to put on display.
